After a long week of running around packing up our house, putting it in storage, and crashing on my MIL’s couch, there are few things better than comfort food, and this Baked Ziti One Pan Pasta is definitely what the doctor ordered!
In addition to being a one pan pasta, this hearty meal is ready in just 30 minutes, so you have a weeknight win on your hands as well!
Holla!
I am still navigating how to shoot everything at my MIL’s, because there are now nine of us living in a two-bedroom house, and if you know anything about food blogging, you know it comes with a lot of…stuff. Since I’m an artificial light photographer, I have an entire lighting setup to deal with, in addition to my backdrop boards, and they take up quite a bit of space.
One thing I am loving, though, is the gas range.
Someday, when I am making the big food blogger bucks, I will build a house that has a gas range. Or buy a house with a gas range. I don’t care which, as long as it has a gas range.
For this one pan pasta, I used Ragu Homestyle Thick & Hearty Roasted Garlic Sauce, which was perfect for blending with the ricotta and fresh mozzarella. It has a great flavor without being overpowering, and I love the thickness of the sauce.
You guys also know I am a big fan of the no HFCS, so this sauce gets a big thumbs up in my book.
So, are you ready to rock this baked ziti one pan pasta? Cause I am totally ready to make this again. And again. And again. And again…
Ingredients
- 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
- 1 Jar Ragu Homestyle Thick & Hearty Roasted Garlic Sauce
- 3 C Water
- 8 oz Ziti Pasta
- Kosher Salt to taste
- Cracked Pepper to taste
- 1 C Ricotta Cheese
- ½ C Fresh Mozzarella ripped into small pieces
- ½ C Fresh Parmesan grated
- 1 Egg
Instructions
- In a large, oven-proof skillet over high heat, add the ground beef and cook, crumbling as it cooks, until browned, around 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the Ragu sauce and water and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then bring mixture to a boil, add the ziti pasta and return to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low, and allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees. While the pasta is cooking, add the ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, and egg to a small bowl and whisk thoroughly to combine.
- When the pasta is tender, stir half of the cheese mixture into the sauce, then layer the remaining on top. Place in the oven and allow to bake for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese on top starts to melt and brown. Remove from oven and serve immediately.

An instant hit. I had already shopped for a different recipe so I used Italian sausage instead of beef an it was sublime.

I am a huge fan of jazzed up sauces and one pan meals, it makes a quick and tasty mid week meal so much easier to throw together quickly. This looks completely delicious.
