I participated in an In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Honey Bunches of Oats Bake at Home. I received product samples to facilitate this post as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I don’t know about you guys, but I love baking. Maybe that’s evident in all the baking posts I’ve shared, which far outnumber my other recipes, like white chocolate cherry scones, sun-dried tomato and feta quick bread, and red velvet cookie bars. Baking is kind of my thing. But the kitchen can get a little lonely sometimes, because the girls are still a little too young to tackle baking without my worrying if they’re kill themselves or burn the house to the ground. Four against one is never a good thing. So when I got the chance to host a party with the new Honey Bunches of Oats Bake at Home Granola Snackers, you can bet I said yes!
My husband invited some of his family over and we got right to work! There are three varieties: Honey Oat, Chocolate Chip, and Cranberry Vanilla. Made with whole grain rolled oats, crisp rice, and wildflower honey, a single serving provides at least 11 grams of whole grains, which makes them the perfect breakfast or snack for an on-the-go household! We decided to have some fun and add some mix-ins to our Honey Bunches of Oats Bake at Home Granola Snackers, so I prepped dishes of fun additions, like fresh raspberries, white chocolate chips, and marshmallows. Everyone had a blast mixing and making new flavors to snack on!
The basic prep is soooo simple. Just melt together some butter, brown sugar, and the enclosed honey packet, pour into the granola mixture and stir, stir, stir. Now would be the time to add a pile of mix-ins, but we wanted to have some fun and make them individualized, so we went ahead and added the granola mixture to the cupcake pans, then each person added whatever combination of goodies he or she wanted. Don favored chocolate chips, marshmallows, and dried mango with his Honey Oat batch, Vanessa added fresh raspberries to her Chocolate Chip variety, then made some with coconut, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and dried mango. Anthony had fun mixing and matching flavors in his Cranberry Vanilla variety. I’m pretty partial to adding marshmallows and crushed graham crackers to the Chocolate Chip variety to make a S’Mores flavor, and adding white chocolate chips to the Cranberry Vanilla. So yummy!
Don’t mind Don’s expression, he was actually having a lot of fun, ha ha ha! After we finished filling our cups with mix-ins, we pressed them down firmly so that they would stick together while baking and popped them in the oven. After a quick 10-12 minutes, our Honey Bunches of Oats Bake at Home Granola Snackers were smelling amazing and ready to come out of the oven! We pressed them down one more time, then set the pans to cool. We may have been drooling at that point. I will neither confirm nor deny that.
After they were nice and cool, we plated them, ate them, and the boxed the rest to enjoy later! They were delicious! These kits are perfect for entertaining, so make sure you keep some on hand for your next get-together, or when you need a wholesome snack, fast!
