This year is not like any other year, for a few big reasons.
1| I’m not pregnant.
2| My mom isn’t visiting.
Usually my mom and her best friend come down around May to visit, because I seem to be always having a baby around this time. We hang out by the pool, grill delicious food, and go shopping for my yearly early birthday present of new shoes. Plus, there is plenty of time spent spoiling my girls, who adore their Nana something fierce! This year, however, Mom isn’t able to come down until sometime this Fall, so we are all very sad to be spending so much time apart. Keeping in touch with Mom is very important to me, and with Walmart Family Mobile and their lowest priced unlimited plans, I can add it to the list of my favorite ways to let her know I love her!
1| Social Media. I’m always pestering Mom on Facebook. It’s nice because I can post silly cards to her wall, or tag her in photos, which makes for a nice surprise when she gets online during the day. It’s great when I don’t need to talk to her right that moment, but of course, it has its limitations.
2| Video Calling. The girls love to get on Skype and chat with their Nana, and I love that they get to see each other, even though it’s not in person. It can be very chaotic though, dealing with bad connections, lots of noise, and of course, we are two time zones apart, which can make it hard to schedule a good time to video chat.
3| Snail Mail. Everyone loves a package or letter, especially when it’s not filled with bills. Although we don’t spend much time sending each other happy mail, it’s always a nice, fun surprise to communicate through the postal service!
4| Phone Calls. For quite awhile I was limited in when I could make calls, because we only had one phone, and it’s my husband’s. He uses it for everything, so when I needed to make calls, I would have to wait for him to be home, or dial out VOIP from my gmail, which meant no one could call me back if I had to leave a message. Thanks to Walmart Family Mobile, however, I finally have a phone all to myself, which means I can spend more time just talking to my mom, and my grandma (they live together in Minnesota), about anything and everything, instead of waiting to make a necessary call from my husband’s phone.
I love getting all the hometown gossip without having to worry about my bill, because with Walmart Family Mobile, I’m saving a ton of money, as they easily have the lowest priced unlimited plans around. Plus, I was able to activate my phone online, in minutes, on my own time, so I didn’t have to stand around for hours watching technicians fiddle with my phone while my kids turn into impatient monsters of destruction.
Pretty sure everyone can appreciate that, am I right?
So this Mother’s Day, instead of getting our tan on, we’ll be gabbing with my Alcatel One Touch Evolve and Walmart Family Mobile, which can be found with the phones in the electronics section of your local Walmart!
Although I am being compensated for this post, all opinions and love for gossip are purely my own.
