As a mom, you know your time doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to your spouse, significant other, children, co-workers, family members…everyone else but you. It can be rough sometimes, when you feel like you’ve given your everything and still your kids need you for one more scraped knee, runny nose, or please please please can I have a popsicle?
Sometimes I just want to go hide my head in a hole until someone else comes along and cleans up the mess left behind me.
Can I get an amen?
I’ve found that I can restore a little bit of myself by taking a few minutes of me time everyday. I don’t need an all-day spa visit (though that would be nice, please) to feel refreshed, relaxed, and at peace, but when the house is quiet in the morning, or during nap time, or after the girls go down for bed, I pull out a few of my favorite things and just…enjoy.
These are my vanilla moments. They are anything but boring and everything I need to keep loving my life, because life is good. Silence is great. Sipping on my coffee with Coffee-mate Classic Vanilla creamer is amazing. Pairing it with a few cookies from my hidden stash is even better. They are moments no one can take away, and they are moments I will always remember as I watch the sun rise and set, the colors of the clouds as they pass by, the sounds of cars rushing to and fro. It’s a sensory experience. I love it.
To me, there is nothing boring about vanilla. It’s my favorite flavor! If you give me the choice, I will always pick vanilla over any other flavor, and for good reason! With over 170 flavor notes, vanilla is amazingly complex. It provides a sensory experience with a flavor and aroma that is subtle yet distinctive and bold. I love using Coffee-mate Classic Vanilla creamer because it’s a perfect compliment to the vivid flavor of coffee, and it has a very balanced flavor which is driven by bean-y, woody, and vanillin notes with very little marshmallow or icing character, so you aren’t getting overloaded with a taste that’s crazy sweet or treat-like.
How could vanilla possibly be boring? If someone tells you you’re vanilla, thank them, because they’re actually giving you a compliment. It’s great being vanilla.
I’m taking my me time, and I’m loving it.
