My cheekbones have returned!
I no longer have to photoshop them into existence, because they are there, uncovered, revealed.
I’ve always loved my cheekbones, and yes, I have some vain pride in them, but you know what?
There’s nothing wrong with a little vanity.
I know, I know. Vanity is evil, a sin even. But I would disagree with that, because in today’s media-driven, photoshop-altered world, we’re all constantly under attack. Made to feel flawed and ugly, and driven to crazy extremes in order to attain a non-existent standard of beauty.
A little vanity is good for the soul. There is something beautiful about each of us, something we should love and feel pride in. Maybe it’s the shape of your eyes, or the curve of your nose. Maybe it’s the definition in your ankles, or the length of your arms. It doesn’t even have to be the thing everyone else notices about you; it’s what you love about you. That’s what matters. For me it’s my cheekbones, and I am glad to see them again.
Hold on to those beautiful parts. Cherish them. Love yourself. And love the beauty in others. Compliment someone’s freckles, long fingers, shiny hair. Let your friends, family and strangers know that you notice their natural beauty, and that you don’t hold them to this crazy inappropriate standard of beauty.

I’m officially finished with my first month in my journey to awesomeness. When I started Nutrisystem, I weighed 221.2 lbs. I am now at 202.8 lbs.
That’s 18.4 pounds lost this past month!
I’ve also lost 6 inches since my initial measurements, most of it in my hips and chest.
Should be take a look at some comparisons? Yes, let’s do that!
Here’s me on Day One:
The top question I get is do you like the food?
The answer is a resounding yes!
There have only been a couple of meals I didn’t particularly like, but my favorite meals are the Spicy Kung Pao Noodles, Fudge Graham Bar and the Turkey Ham and Cheese Omelet. Speaking of the Kung Pao Noodles, when I received my second month’s shipment, I was so sad to not find any of that meal among my foods. So sad. I asked Nutrisystem about it and they are sending me a few cups, which has me super excited now!
