When I move somewhere, the first thing I do is put up my pictures on the walls.
Before the boxes get unpacked, and before the dishes get put in the cupboards, the pictures go up on the walls.
It makes a new place feel more like home in an instant. Softens the noise, removes the echoes.
With my last move, however, I didn’t put up my usual pictures in the bedroom.
It’s been barren for over six months. Loud and open and different. I wanted something, something, to make the space whole, but I didn’t have it.
I really wanted something special to fill the space behind my bed; something personal and beautiful.
I chose this photo of Vivienne:
Because it is easily my favorite photo of anyone or anything, ever.
I also chose this photo because I wanted to really test the skills of Easy Canvas Prints.
In case you can’t tell, this photo is not completely black and white. In the dress there is still a touch of a red, yellow and green, and I wondered to myself if they would get it right, along with the general test to see if it would come out looking the way I see it on my screen, as edited.
I think the results speak for themselves!
Seriously, I was floored.
With the vast majority of us having some form of DSLR camera, you’re probably pretty familiar with the standard-sized photos we can print, even at home. What I really wanted to see, and show you, is how amazing an enlargement looks.
I chose a 16×20 and no detail is lost; her eyelashes are focused and prominent just like the original photo and the softness around her hair, dress and background is just the same, with no extra blurriness or pixelation.
One of things I really liked, because I was so unsure of how my photo would turn out in an enlargement, is that Easy Canvas Prints automatically checks the quality of the photo file uploaded, to ensure that it can handle whatever size canvas you are choosing. The site takes you through the process step-by-step with all sorts of options available to create the perfect canvas for your home, and with their amazingly quick turnout time, you’ll likely receive your canvas in very short order (mine was less than one week)!
I couldn’t be more pleased with Easy Canvas Prints, and my husband agrees. In fact, he now wants to get a 16×20 of each of our kids! The three small prints in my photos are all 8x10s, so you can get an idea of the size difference.
It’s pretty fantastic, right?
