The countdown is on, my friends. Just a few more days until Valentine’s Day is here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re starting to make plans with your special someone for a special day that’s all about love. Although I love to go out, I’m not a big fan of all the prix fixe menus a lot of places stick you with on V-Day, so I like to make special treats at home, like this dark chocolate brownie tart, and leave the going out for another night.
I’ve always been a big fan of individual everything. Maybe it’s the crazy dieter in me (because hello, can’t splurge on chips when it’s a single serving bag yo), or that I grew up obsessed with a culture that was obsessed with tiny things (name it and you get a prize! or an internet pat-on-the-back), but I love when I have the opportunity to take a traditional recipe and split it apart into many little pieces. I feel there is more love in the little platter I’ve prepared for each person than a giant pan you just willy-nilly scrape bars out of. But I’m also weird, so there’s that. ANYWAY.
The cool thing about this dark chocolate brownie tart recipe is that it fits perfectly in six tart dishes, as opposed to a regular 8×8 or 13×9 inch pan, so it’s easily interchangeable. You just have to adjust the cooking time accordingly, since tarts cook up in about half the time of the other two. To get the brownies super fudgy, you need eggs, lots of eggs. Three to be exact. And dark chocolate cocoa powder of course the secret to getting that delicious dark chocolate flavor. It takes only one bowl and a few minutes to get this recipe together and into the oven, which is awesome. Pretty much fool-proof! And to make things a little more special, I added some amazing Dove Fruit Chocolate to each tart, some cranberry and some blueberry, and since they are encased in a rich layer of dark chocolate, it’s a super fun surprise to see which one you get when you take a bite!
