Mornings are the bane of my existence. I have never been a morning person, even when I was in the Air Force, my BFF always had to kick me out of bed in the morning to get going. Ugh. That is how I feel about morning. Of course, my hate for mornings isn’t even remotely considered by the rest of my family. Rude. They have to get up early for school, for work, or just because they feel like. They’re happy and excited and full of energy, and I’m just trying to figure out how to open my eyes. It’s hard work. So while they’re trying to get out the door, I need to get them fed in a hurry, and that’s when easy healthy breakfast ideas come to the rescue!

Right now I am loving these new Tyson Day Starts, which are made with high quality meats and cheeses (none of that mystery meat crap, gross!) and provide 24% or more of your daily protein intake, which we all know is pivotal in getting a good start to the day, am I right? They are so easy to prepare, that I can create a full, balanced breakfast in under 5 minutes.

I love pairing my Tyson Day Starts with crisp fruit, or a berry smoothie, which just so happens to be made with leftover raspberries from my Raspberry Shortbread Bars recipe, huzzah! I also love a hot cup of coffee, since I can’t live without it. The flavors go well together, between the salty sausage and savory cheese, and the tart berries, you just can’t go wrong; this truly is what to eat for breakfast, yum. Want to pair your own Tyson Day Starts with my berry smoothie? I’ve got you covered!

Get healthy this year with this simple and delicious berry smoothie!

This recipe should make you two servings, or three if you let the kids fight over it like I do mine, ha ha ha.
