I just love the sweetness lent to this dish from the French toast sticks and maple sausage. It’s not overwhelming by any means, but it’s a wonderful accent.

Like this French toast breakfast casserole; it comes together in a hurry, and there is no need to soak overnight in the fridge, which makes it perfect for the person who hates to pre-plan a meal. Like me. Cause I always forget. Always. ALWAYS. So yay for that! This is the kind of breakfast that’s perfect for Christmas morning. Let it bake in the oven and fill the house with all those wonderful smells while you open presents with the family. Wonderful way to start the day, I think!
Ingredients
- 14-15 Farm Rich French Toast Sticks
- ½ lb Maple Sausage
- ½ lb Bacon roughly chopped
- 5 Eggs
- 1 C Milk
- 1 C Cheddar Cheese
- Kosher Salt to taste
- Cracked Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch pan, then line with the Farm Rich French Toast Sticks to cover the entire bottom of the pan. Set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium, medium-high heat, add the bacon and begin to cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Add the sausage, then continue to cook, breaking up the meat as it cooks, until browned and the bacon is slightly crispy, around 7-10 minutes. Transfer to a towel covered plate to drain the fat, then spread across the French Toast Sticks.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk til thoroughly combined. Gently stir in the cheddar cheese, then season with the salt and pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the meats and French Toast Sticks, then place in the oven and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove casserole from oven and allow to sit for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
