As with most households with kids, pizza is a life staple. There are just some days where you cannot go without it, and I love a good pizza. Pile it high with toppings or keep it simple with cheese, the options are endless, and boy do I ever love to play. Like this Margherita Pizza with Salami. I’ve made tons of margherita pizzas in the past but this one was inspired by Pizza Hut and their Flavor of Now, which is a brand new menu with five new toppings, six bold sauces, eight crust flavors, and four drizzles. So many amazing choices.
I decided to make this pizza after I was inspired by one I created at Pizza Hut. I started with the premium crushed tomato sauce, added salami, bacon, and spinach, and finished it with a drizzle of balsamic reduction on crust flavored with the garlicky butter blend. It was delicious, and I definitely recommend it! So for my own pizza, I went with a spin on the margherita pizza by adding salami and adding a crust flavor with garlic, butter, and grated Parmesan. Also amazing. With fresh basil on top and a hearty drizzle of balsamic reduction. Paradise in my mouth, my friends. You need this pizza in your life.
Start with your favorite pizza dough, either homemade or store-bought, and gather all your ingredients. Prep your dough according to the instructions: I used a semi-homemade dough so I needed to stretch it out to size with my fingers. That is always fun, ha ha ha.
Drizzle a little olive oil over the dough and spread it out. Sprinkle a little salt over it, then lay down your toppings. I started with the salami, then added the tomatoes and mozzarella, before finishing off the crust with a gentle glaze of the garlic, butter, Parmesan mixture.
Bake at 425 degrees or until the crust is golden brown and the mozzarella is melty and yum. Devour immediately. That is an order! Have you checked out Pizza Hut’s new menu? What kind of pizza would you like to create?

Now I wish that I had picked up salami at the market. My oldest daughter asked for it, but I passed it by. We make pizza all the time and I know they would love this spin on the traditional pepperoni.
