Growing up, my family would always take road trips to Duluth to visit my grandparents. It seemed like the longest drive ever as a kid. I haven’t taken that drive in years now, but I think it was like…three hours or so. But I swear it felt like allllllllllll day. Before we would leave, we would always pack up snacks to help prevent having to stop ten million times, and my favorite snack was alwaysalwaysalways puppy chow. It’s my love for that quintessential childhood treat that led me to create today’s version: Peanut Butter Cup Puppy Chow.
It’s essentially just like regular puppy chow, but with Reese’s Puffs instead. It brings out even more of the chocolate peanut butter flavor that I love, and that my girls are now obsessed with. And of course, with a fun prize inside the box, I end up having to get four boxes to prevents fights.
Oh the childhood memories!
This is really one of the fastest treats you could make. Just melt together chocolate chips, peanut butter, and regular butter, then dump it over the cereal, mix, add powdered sugar, and shake it like a salt shaker.
Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it. You know what to doooooo.
Why am I always singing songs in my posts? Whatever. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!
So if you are looking for a quick and easy treat that brings back those good ol’ childhood memories, then make some Peanut Butter Cup Puppy Chow and get to making some memories with the kids!
