Tropical Smoothie Recipe | asimplepantry.comToday it is freezing cold here in San Antonio. Like 35 degrees. Just two days ago it was 85. This makes me a sad, sad Karly. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love cold, snowy winters like I had growing up in Minnesota, but it’s just plain old cold here. And when I’m teased with amazing weather and it’s followed up with this yuck…just no. I can’t. While the weather was spectacular, however, I whipped up this amazing tropical smoothie recipe that I know you are going to love as much as I do.

Tropical Smoothie Recipe | asimplepantry.comTropical Smoothie Recipe | asimplepantry.comMaybe I should make this tropical smoothie recipe today, and let it transport me back to the warm days I love. I did some work on Saturday before joining my husband and the kids at my MIL’s house for drinks and a good time in the backyard. The kids were running around like wild animals, and Charli was using new words with reckless abandon. It was awesome.

Tropical Smoothie Recipe | asimplepantry.comI even had to turn the AC on in my home, because I got so hot while I was working that I was sweating like crazy! I was kind of sad about that, too, because I love being able to open the house up completely and letting the air just swirl around everywhere. I usually crank up my tunes and sing really loud while dancing around the kitchen and living room with the front door wide open. I have no shame.

Tropical Smoothie Recipe | asimplepantry.comTropical Smoothie Recipe | asimplepantry.comOne thing I always notice when making my smoothies is how strong of a flavor banana has. In this recipe, I didn’t want the banana taste to be the main feature, because this tropical smoothie recipe is full of delicious pineapple and mango. I wanted you to be able to taste those ingredients, so I only used a tiny amount of banana. The yogurt adds a powerful punch of protein to the mix too, making it a perfect breakfast option!

Because mangos are not yet in season, I used Del Monte's Diced Mangos. Just drain thoroughly before using!

YUMMY! A Pineapple, Mango, and Banana smoothie sounds so good right about now! It is rather warm here in the Phoenix area this week, too warm already if you ask me and this is just what I need to cool off! 😉

I was born and raised here in San Antonio and I still am not used to the temperature changes in a south central Texas winter. But then I also don’t care for the blazing heat for months and months on end. But it’s home and I love SA! Now I can enjoy this smoothie and not care about the weather outside. Thanks!
