Brides of Frankenstein JELL-O JIGGLERS

When it comes to Halloween goodies, I usually stick to the stuff that’s prepped in the store.
That probably sounds weird, considering all the culinary creations I’ve made.
But I swear to you, when it comes to the finer points of decorative desserts, I am all thumbs.

I’ll tell you, I was really excited about making these JELL-O JIGGLERS. I rolled up my proverbial sleeves (because duh, it’s still too hot in Phoenix for sleeves) and dove right in…to disaster.

Seriously, I failed so hard at making JELL-O JIGGLERS it should be a crime.
My husband made fun of me relentlessly, and I used the experience to help my friends cheer up, because no one fails at JELL-O. It’s impossible.

After three days and four attempts, I finally accomplished my goal.

Now, although I was beating myself up at my inadequacies, this really was a shining moment for my girls, who got to enjoy the fruits of my spoils.

Did I even use that analogy correctly? Did I just fail at language and grammar too?
Oi!

I used these MMMMonster JELL-O JIGGLERS as inspiration.

They are cute (I mean, Spooky!) little Frankenstein JIGGLERS, and as I looked at them and thought, wouldn’t it be awesome to do Brides of Frankenstein?

You know, cause I have all girls.
Brides of Frankenstein JELL-O JIGGLERS
1 ⅔ C Boiling Water, Divided

1 Pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Grape Flavored Gelatin
¼ C (½ Pkg.) JELL-O Lime Flavored Gelatin

1 Tube Black Decorating Gel

1 Tube White Decorating Gel

Spray 12 (2-oz.) plastic shot glasses with cooking spray. Add 1-⅓ cups boiling water to grape gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. (Do not add cold water.) Spoon into glasses to desired height. Refrigerate 10 min. or until slightly thickened.

Meanwhile, add remaining ⅓ cup boiling water to lime gelatin mix in small bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Let set on counter until grape gelatin is ready, then scoop about 1 Tbsp lime gelatin into each glass. Refrigerate for 3 hours or until firm.

Unmold JIGGLERS onto a plate just before serving and use the black decorating gel to make eyes and the white decorating gel to make squiggles in the “hair”.

Now I mentioned earlier how my girls enjoyed this project far more than I did, right?

Well, each time I screwed up, I had this huge pile of broken JELL-O all over the counter. I was so frustrated that I just pushed it all towards the waiting fingers of my daughters, who essentially dove into the mix like a pack of wild animals, with all the sounds included.

It was scary.
But of course, two seconds later they were all giggling with girlish glee, showing each other their JELL-O covered teeth, which instantly lightened my mood.

My neighbor has a little girl around the same age as my kids, so I let the girls put a few JIGGLERS on a plate and bring them to her, much to her delight!

One of the biggest tips I have for making these fun JELL-O JIGGLERS is to take a napkin or paper towel and gently wipe them down after you get them out of the cups, because the cooking spray will make the gel slide right off, which is only fun if you like an excuse to eat a lot of decorating gel (I do!).
Head on over to Jello.com and check out some more fun JELL-O JIGGLER creatures sure to fright and delight this Halloween season!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
