I just now realized that I have yet to post a smoothie for 2015! For shame, Karly, for shame! Since I’ve already dazzled you with my Berry Smoothie, Peach Raspberry Smoothie, and the ever-popular Banana Peach Green Smoothie, it’s time to bring you something new. Smoothies are, after all, my love child. Because the four kids I have are just not enough, or something. Maybe I should rethink that. So. I thought, why not kick off the year on the best food possible, by making a blueberry pomegranate superfood smoothie! This tasty purple nugget of awesome is full of yummy flavor, but with a secret. What could it be?!?
OMG it’s spinach y’all. Yes, that’s right, we’re drinking a purple “green” smoothie. So sneak in those greens on your kids, they won’t know what hit them, besides health, because, you know, superfoods.
I decided to make this smoothie because school is back in session, and of course, Afton came home with the plague and now everyone else has the plague too. Sharing is caring. Or something. Utilizing the power of ripe blueberries and some extra pomegranate juice I had leftover from my pomegranate cosmopolitan, this smoothie only has four ingredients, total. And since you already know spinach is all up in this shiz, I should just go ahead and tell you the last ingredient is honey. Ha.
OH! And ice. But I don’t really count ice, because that’s a given, right?
So, if you are trying to stay on the healthier side of things this year, or just need to give your immune system a boost of energy, then this blueberry pomegranate superfood smoothie is perfect for you!
- 2 C Ice
- 2 C Pomegranate Juice
- 1 1/2 C Fresh Spinach
- 1 1/2 C Fresh Blueberries
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- Place all ingredients in a large blender and pulse until smooth.
