Jalapeno Mango Green Smoothie

Jalapeno Mango Green Smoothie | asimplepantry.comWe are definitely smoothie people around here. You probably couldn’t tell, right? Between my Banana Peach Green Smoothie and my Strawberry Mango Smoothie, and oh yeah, that smoothie book I wrote…yeah, definitely into smoothies here. This Jalapeno Mango Green Smoothie is no exception, and I think you are going to love its awesomeness.

Jalapeno Mango Green Smoothie | asimplepantry.comWhen it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, smoothies are always my go-to. I can sneak in the fruits and veggies my kids would normally turn their noses up at, but I can also power pack them to really get their day going. I am a HUGE fan of Vega Essentials which is made from whole food ingredients, is vegan and gluten free, and has 20 grams of plant-based protein per serving!

Jalapeno Mango Green Smoothie | asimplepantry.comJalapeno Mango Green Smoothie | asimplepantry.comWe all know how important protein is at breakfast, so being able to quickly add it to my, or the girls’, morning smoothie is SO GREAT. Hectic mornings don’t stand a chance against Vega Essentials, yo.

What I love about creating a good smoothie, is the ability to think outside of the glass. Har har har, I’m witty, right? So many smoothies use bananas as a base, and while they are delicious, my husband is allergic to them. Soooo, I can’t really give him a smoothie filled with death fruit. This jalapeno mango green smoothie has no banana base, but is still super creamy and thick like you’d get with a banana base, which is a huge double plus bonus. And guys, it has cucumbers in it. You’re probably used to spinach, cause it’s in errrrrthing, but cucumber is SO GOOD in smoothies. It has a light flavor, and it’s actually almost a tiny bit sweet. But when you combine it with some nomilicious frozen mango, vanilla almond milk and vanilla protein powder? Dancing tastebuds.

And we must not forget the jalapeno. You’re drinking the soothing sweetness of this green smoothie when suddenly you feel a little warm, a little fired up, like electricity is flowing through your body. That’s the jalapeno working it’s jalapeno magic. Don’t fear the jalapeno. This jalapeno mango green smoothie just wouldn’t be a jalapeno mango green smoothie without the jalapeno.

So how bout we make one right meow?

Whaaaaaat! I’ve never thought to put jalapenos in my smoothies and I love spicy food and drinks! I have a crapton from my garden this year and have been on a green smoothie kick lately – I’ll be making this recipe very soon. Thanks for sharing! Love your photos.
