Your body will thank you when you whip up this amazing Lemon Cucumber Detox Water! | asimplepantry.comThis super simple lemon cucumber detox water is literally one of the oldest recipes I have, because I’ve been using it for like…10-15 years. So we’re talking well before I even showed an interest in creating my own recipes. Like maybe 18 years old. I AM SO OLD.

I can say though, that water has been my jam my entire life. I have a hard time understanding people who say they don’t like water. It’s water. It’s life.

Your body will thank you when you whip up this amazing Lemon Cucumber Detox Water! | asimplepantry.comOne thing I can understand, though, is nasty water. I’ve lived in many places, from the country, to small towns, suburbs, and in the big city, so I’ve seen and tasted much water. Where I am living now, in the city of San Antonio, the water is a literal travesty. The plumbing is horrid and my water comes out cloudy with a funky taste, and when maintenance works on the plumbing, it comes out a dark shade of brown/orange.

Disgusting is an understatement.

I’ve hated buying so many water bottles and jugs, because the plastic waste just isn’t any better than the gross water coming from the tap, so I needed a solution, and that solution was Brita®!

Your body will thank you when you whip up this amazing Lemon Cucumber Detox Water! | asimplepantry.comYour body will thank you when you whip up this amazing Lemon Cucumber Detox Water! | asimplepantry.comBrita reduces the odor and taste of chlorine and other contaminants, leave deliciously crisp water behind to quench your thirst with.

I’m a thirsty girl, folks.

If you’re a basketball buff, then you’ve probably already seen that NBA all-star Stephen Curry (LOVE him) has teamed up with Brita, as well as Albertson’s Grocery, because they want to raise awareness of making important changes to improve quality of life, which includes every drop of water. When I say water is life, I mean it! Water boosts your immune system, helps you consume less sugar, lose weight, and sleep better.

And did you know, by using a Brita pitcher, you are saving not only the planet from awful plastic waste, but also your wallet from the insane cost associated with buying all those water bottles?? We’re talking a yearly average cost of $89 for filters are opposed to an average of over $1000 for water bottles.

INSANITY.

Your body will thank you when you whip up this amazing Lemon Cucumber Detox Water! | asimplepantry.comSo now that you’re going to go out and save some cash, and some plastic, and drink amazing water, let’s have some fun with it! This lemon cucumber detox water is soooooo easy, and makes that crisp water flavorful without adding things like sugar. Ew. Plus, it helps clean out your body and get it running at its best. Which is what we all want, right?

I used to make this all the time, but I got tired of having to cut up lemons and cucumbers so much so now I usually just drink plain water. You get used to it!

I grew up in NYC, and I’m back here now, and we have terrific water, brought down from the mountains north of the city. But that means that all the years I lived in places that did not… I knew what I was missing.

And yes, a Brita filter gave me back water, in those years. It made a huge difference. I’d been living on homemade iced tea, which was better than some options, but still not ideal…

And your infused water sounds delicious!

This looks SO refreshing! I drink water-a-plenty and I always have the intention to add lemon and cucumbers, but I often get distracted and forget. Ha. But this concoction, I have GOT to try!

I love adding citrus and herbs to water — makes me feel like I’m at a fancy hotel (they always have that in the lobby). A great way to hydrate and get some vitamins at the same time!
