Or maybe not. Really, when I think back, it didn’t actually start with hello for my husband and I. It was more of a weary, sideways glance and a head nod, because I didn’t know why this stranger was going behind my bar and putz-ing around with my setup. What a punk, I thought. Turned out he was a manager for a couple of different bars owned by the same man who owned the bar I was working in, and he was checking up on things since my manager was on vacation. So really, it may have started with Who the hell are you? But you know, that’s life sometimes. You just never know who is going to walk in and stay with you.
Since having kids, it’s been harder keeping that connection because we are always so busy. Rudy is at work constantly, and I’m on the computer constantly, and the girls are in school and at home and needing to be fed, played with, homework help, etc. It’s a full schedule that doesn’t leave us much room to just relax and enjoy each other’s company. Because of this, we’ve made a conscious effort to stay fresh, so instead of waking up each morning with the usual good morning, we instead wake up and say hello! It feels more like we’re meeting after being away for a long time, and there is the air of excitement, kind of like Yay! You’re home; I missed you so much! rather than the bland, everyday wake-up greeting.
We also love to connect over some delicious Lindt HELLO chocolates, which are delicious and fun and totally shareable. I mean, hello? Duh. Did you know Lindt HELLO also has an adorable romantic comedy series? Episode 3 just went live, so you should check it out and be inspired.
